Local non profit organization have strong existing relationships with people at every stage of the disease as well as the "worried well." As trusted sources of information and support, these organizations are well suited to provide information and referral but do not always have the capacity. Partnerships with trial providers wherein the non profit hosts community educational events and experiences, designed to be understandable for the average layperson, could bring more people into the trial world. Finding ways to bring multiple trial options to these experiences, educating the consumers on how to make a choice, and then allowing consumers to select the trials they wish, opens more doors than we see currently.
Trial providers have the budget to cover any costs of these events, whereas non profits may not.
